JOB DESCRIPTION
Aspen Tree Service is hiring for a Trim Foreman to organize and oversee the operations and staff around the job site, making weekly production reports. The trim foreman is responsible for coordinating with arborists, planning daily routes for the trim department, and managing other divisions of the trim department. This position requires someone who demonstrates exceptional communication skills, and leadership qualities as they will be responsible for maintaining motivation and morale in the trim department. We require a Colorado Commercial Driver’s License as well as a minimum of three years in production and managerial experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
- Must pass company driving test
- Minimum three years full-time experience in production.
- Minimum three years full-time experience in personnel and budgetary management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT NEEDED)*
- Two-Year or Four-Year College Degree Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Forestry or related field preferred.
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certified.
- Colorado Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brakes Endorsement.
- Industry related professional certifications and licenses (ISA, TCIA, ASCA, Colorado Department of Agriculture certifications) considered a plus.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates exceptional communication skills, leadership qualities and operates in a manner that coincides with the company’s mission statement and core values.
- Supervises entire project crew of employees in the trim division of ATS. Advocating for Aspen Tree Service in sales, quality control, leadership, development of sales goals, tracking and reporting revenue, implementing safety and training program.
- Schedules, helps develop, and implements safety protocols and trainings for division.
- Manages the trim crew managers and supervisors.
- Plays lead role for maintaining department morale, employee development, motivation and retention.
- Performs employee evaluations and performance reviews.
- Monitors and assists with time off requests.
- Plans daily routes for trim department and distributes to trim supervisors. Manages routes to be the most efficient, using time management techniques to ensure effective completion of daily work orders.
- Responsible for ensuring the proper and timely completion of jobs to ANSI A300 and Z133 standards of arboriculture.
- Operates and maintains company vehicles and equipment safely, reports any major repairs to the fleet manager.
- Professionally interacts with arborists and clients in coordinating service, stewarding properties, sharing findings, and suggesting solutions including different or additional recommendations.
- Creates weekly production reports (including daily averages, weekly averages, and wage percentages). Provides summary of findings to Vice President.
- Assists in emergency situations and storm damage operations.
- Conducts safety incident investigations. Provides resolution and reporting on vehicle accidents, personal injuries, property damage, formal complaints, etc.
- Finds ways to run the department more efficiently and safely.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy. Able to stay calm, even tempered, and not take things personally during stressful situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Gmail. Employee will also be asked to learn proprietary software such as Arborgold.
- Participates in continuing education to stay abreast of industry trends and developments.
