Job Description:
Mount Saint Mary's University's Office of Institutional Advancement is looking for an Assistant Director of Annual Giving who will actively manage fundraising and engagement campaigns that increase donor participation and annual donations through audience segmentation, compelling messaging and innovative multi-channel outreach. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director will serve as the technical expert, analytics point person and project manager for Annual Giving communications (print mail, email, digital campaigns, texting). They will evaluate campaign performance and donor trends, recommend appeal strategies and implement all facets of the Annual Giving marketing plan. They will manage Annual Giving operations to ensure data integrity, intelligent segmentation strategy and timely completion of projects to maximize engagement and fundraising results.
The Assistant Director will also support the management and growth of the Brady Leadership Society (annual donors who give $1,200+ to the Mount Fund) and the Heritage Society (planned giving donors) and will provide basic administrative support for these donor societies as needed.
Work Location: Doheny Campus (Downtown Los Angeles). Hybrid work is available.

Annual Salary Rate Range: $66,560.04- $76,335.96
Monthly Salary Rate Range: $5,546.67- $6,361.33
Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate's qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implements annual giving programs for multiple constituencies with an emphasis on managing a multi-channel direct response program

Manages a detailed schedule of direct marketing activities, including copywriting, design, production, mailing, list selection and segmentation

Develops and manages a portfolio of 30-50 prospects, including loyal donors (future planned giving prospects) and young alumnae/i who are eligible to join the Brady Leadership Society at discounted rates; engages, cultivates, solicits and stewards prospects with at least 24 visits per fiscal year

Under the guidance of the Director of Annual Giving, implements strategy and acts as primary contact for Giving Day fundraising campaigns (Giving Tuesday and Mount Day of Giving)

Works closely with the Director of Annual Giving, Assistant Director of Alumnae and Volunteer Engagement and other key campus partners (e.g. Student Affairs, Admissions, Equity, Diversity and Justice) to strategize and implement an effective student and young alumnae philanthropy program (the Mount Traditions program)

Explores emerging technologies to best meet engagement and fundraising goals and, if appropriate, leads implementation of said technology

Participates in donor cultivation and stewardship events (Brady Leadership Society stewardship event, Heritage Society luncheon, Scholarship luncheon, etc.) and other University events as necessary

Liaises with Annual Giving and Planned Giving vendors (FreeWill, GiveCampus, etc.) and Communications on a regular basis to produce/approve the monthly newsletters

Provides administrative support (e.g. processing invoices, credit card reconciliation, maintaining the team calendar, supply management, proofread gift agreements, etc.)

Manages student office workers and approves timesheets

Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Understanding of higher education/non-profit fundraising and administration, including sophisticated fundraising techniques, donor relations and trends. Expertise with the Microsoft Office suite (especially Teams, Outlook and Excel).

Strong working knowledge of Raiser's Edge database system is preferred.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
- One to two years of fundraising experience with a focus on annual giving/individual donor development preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- California driver's license.
