Resident Director Job Description
Overview:
Join our team at Heritage Hills Memory Care as an Assistant Resident Services Director where you will play a vital role in overseeing staff and the well-being and care of our residents. We are dedicated to providing exceptional senior care services in a warm and supportive environment. As a Assistant Resident Services Director, you will assist in leading a team to ensure the highest quality of care for our residents while upholding their rights and dignity.
Duties:
- Responsible for providing timely care services to residents in accordance with federal and state regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Recruit, hire, evaluate, schedule, provide timely performance appraisals, and supervise care department employees as directed by the Resident Services Director or Executive Director in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Provide sufficient orientation for employees to ensure their knowledge of company values, goals, policies, and procedures.
- Provide training as directed by the resident services director to make certain all care services, delivery of medications, record keeping, and emergency procedures meet or exceed federal, state and company guidelines.
- Ensure that schedule provides adequate staffing in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies and procedures.
- Provide for coverage when staff is absent to ensure completion of essential duties.
- Provide periodic assessments of all residents and monitor residents for a change in status to ensure all care needs continue to be met.
- Monitor each resident through continual observations and periodic assessments and communicate any change of status with physicians, health care agencies, families, Resident Services Director and/or Executive Director. Communicate the physical and mental care needs of residents and the department’s ability to provide the necessary services.
- Keep current list of residents using oxygen tanks. Include in emergency preparedness plan.
- Participate in state licensing surveys.
- Assist in the preparation of department budget and management of costs.
- Assure confidentiality in all matters, including but not limited to employee and resident information.
- Participate in daily management meetings to communicate key issues within the community.
- Maintain compliance with all Federal (Title 22) and state regulations and company policies and procedures applicable to job duties.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards.
- Encourage teamwork among all departments and assist with conflict resolution.
- Present positive and professional image.
- Per State of California regulations, as a “mandated reporter” you must report all known or suspected incidents of resident abuse of dependent adults or elders.
- Performs other duties as assigned and consistent with the success of the position.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in home community care, nursing home, or senior care settings.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and regulations governing senior care facilities.
- Proficiency in medication administration protocols and ensuring accuracy in dosage.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Background in nursing is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with residents and their families.
