Central Oregon Ear, Nose and Throat is looking for an experienced part time Front Desk Assistant/Appointment Scheduler to provide comprehensive medical reception services and clerical support to physician(s), audiologists and clinical team in Klamath Falls, Oregon. COENT, seeks a dynamic and energetic professional with an interest in working with patients of all ages. Requires excellent communication and customer service skills. Working knowledge of registration, insurance verification, scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations and checking in patients for a busy medical office is preferred. Serves as an ambassador of Central Oregon ENT and represents the practice in a professional, polished and positive manner. Demonstrates a personal commitment to service excellence in all interactions.
Job Summary
- Greets and assists patients. Answers telephone and provides appropriate information or routes call to appropriate person. Performs clerical tasks, as assigned, including but not limited to scheduling office appointments, verifying insurance information, patient check-in/check-out, copayment collection and cashiering, new patient registration, scheduling patient testing/procedures, overseeing waiting room activities and patient flow, completing forms, data entry. Demonstrates accountability for securing and ensuring patient privacy. Assists in the organization and administration of practice objectives and policies.
General Accountabilities
- Greets patients and ascertains name and other pertinent information. Notifies team of patient’s arrival.
- Answers telephone(s). Determines if caller can be helped by receptionist or needs to be routed to another person. Routes calls as appropriate.
- Schedules provider appointments. Knowledgeable of all referral requirements by health plan, and advises patients accordingly. Verifies demographic and insurance information at the time of scheduling. Cancels and reschedules appointments when providers are in the ER, surgery or cannot be present on an office day.
Responsibilities:
- Greet all patients and visitors in a courteous and timely manner; monitor reception wait time and facilitate patient needs monitor reception area for cleanliness.
- Provide registration information and forms to new and existing patients, and otherwise assure accurate and timely confirmation and entry of demographic and insurance information in accordance with registration policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate patient-related policies through forms, brochures and direct communications with patients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Request, collect and maintain patient co-pays, co-insurances, deductibles and/or balances as may be defined by policy from time to time, or as directed; generate payment receipts and post payments to computer system.
- Post and/or confirm procedure and diagnostic codes in computer as needed to assure capture of all office visit services provided.
- Explain charges, payments, patient balances and insurance questions with patients as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
