Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution of learning, and one (1) year related security experience (not required but preferred).
It is a critical job requirement that the incumbent of this position successfully pass an initial and annual renewal process administered by the Security Officers Management Branch (SOMB). Also, the incumbent is required to submit to all licensure requirements, i.e., thorough background/reference check and, drug and alcohol tests.
It is important to note that this position “is not” empowered with any law enforcement authority or powers.
The incumbent must:
- Pass licensed Security Officer test in the District of Columbia.
- Maintain certification by the Security Officers Management Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department.
- Successfully complete routine training as required by DCHA.
- Comply with DCHA’s standards for excellence in customer service.
