POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for leading community engagement activities and serving as a liaison between the organization and various stakeholders, including community groups, government officials and external institutions. Excellent communication and organizational skills will be critical in fostering positive relationships with the community and supporting the team in achieving the community engagement initiatives and goals. The goal is to reduce overdose risk in high risk populations by fostering relationships within the community to provide targeted interventions, education and support.
This position will provide both programmatic and administrative support to the OEND team. Administrative support includes circulating agenda and project materials, coordinating meeting logistics, compiling meeting minutes, organizing communications, and managing project timelines. Additionally, the position will participate in outreach to community partners and institutions and track data for evaluation, marketing, and operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Utilize innovative approaches to engage community partners, stakeholders, residents, and neighborhood institutions
- Lead outreach efforts to build and sustain relationships with community partners
- Represent the work of the program by attending community and partner events, presenting posters, and articulating the goals of the Community Engagement program for various stakeholders.
- Utilize hospital’s values as the basis for decision-making and to facilitate the division’s hospital mission.
- Maintain regular communication with community partners, stakeholders, and residents and assist with outreach to new organizations
Administrative Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and events
- Prepare materials to market services to external and internal partner and stakeholders
- Compile and organize data to evaluate the program’s reach, capacity, and outcomes
- Assist in the development of event programs, agendas, and reports
- Develop and manage outreach materials including social media platforms, website and promotional materials
- Evaluate the success of events and identify areas for improvement for future initiatives
- Track and monitor progress of community outreach initiatives
- Assist with the preparation of grant proposals, reports, presentations, and manuscripts for publication
- Assist with data collection and data management activities as indicated by grant deliverables
- Provide training support to Grayken TTA team including technical assistance for in-person and virtual education sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary
- Attend community events and represent BMC Grayken TTA
Knowledge and Skills
-
Experience in administrative roles requiring program management, event coordination and data entry
- Previous experience in community engagement, car coordination, health navigation or an equivalent position for two or more years
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with people from diverse backgrounds
- Deep and established connections with the community
- Knowledge of SUD, HIV, Hepatitis, STI and ability to train community members, create training materials
- Familiarity with community engagement principles and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva and other relevant software applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- Knowledge of budget management, grant deliverables and financial reporting is desirable
- Demonstrate an eagerness to engage in professional growth through support with publications or presentations related to job function
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.

JOB DESCRIPTION CHARACTERISTICS
EDUCATION:
High school diploma required. Bachelor’s or Associates degree completed or in process.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Certificate degree in public health or health center management preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
At least 5 years of experience in community outreach required. Experience in administrative position in healthcare required. Experience working with urban populations required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Excellent verbal/written English communication skills, including grammatical, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Highly organized with excellent problem solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proficient in Canva and other marketing or social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
- Experience with evaluation and quantitative data collection a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary for accepting and relaying confidential information, communicating policies and procedures, and interacting effectively with diverse clientele and stakeholders.
