Brief Description of Duties
The Project Coordinator position will support the Dean in the Division of Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning by gathering resources and information to develop, implement, evaluate, monitor, and track specialized on-going and time-bound projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responds and provides high quality follow-up and customer service(s) to internal and external WDLL customers (i.e., staff, students, community partners, university partners, etc.) as applicable to each assigned project
- Operates with high fidelity and professional level of discretion and confidentiality on behalf of the Dean
- Conducts regular marketing and communications, program development, event planning, assessment and data collection activities, division-wide operating policies, procedures, and correspondences, and regulated activities at the discretion of the Dean
- Supports assessment and data collection activities, division-wide operating policies, procedures, and correspondences, partnership implementation activities, and regulated activities at the discretion of the Dean
- Manages the coordination of division-wide special events and regular programming logistics such as space reservations, and all associated event planning activities (i.e., organizing promotional items, serving as WDLL POC, ordering event food etc.)
- Collaborates regularly with WDLL Staff/teams to conduct inventories of office supplies, equipment, furniture, software, technology, career informational resources, other related items, and prepares budgetary documents, as applicable
- Assists with procurement and contract management activities for WDLL contractors and vendors, as needed
- Prepares and submits routine reports of office management operation, statuses, needs, and outcomes while maintaining records of activities/data and perform other duties as assigned
- Regularly updates and submits draft division-wide policies, procedures, communications, and documents related to division-wide activities
- Attends and/or leads applicable project meetings as applicable
- Develops and implements special project plans as applicable
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree Preferred.
- A minimum of five years hands-on related work experience in the Project Coordinator field. Experience in project management preferred.
- Proficient in computer software applications including Windows and Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Banner, and other related software packages.
- Proficient with technology including computers, copiers, printers, scanners, faxes, telephones, televisions, projectors, and other related technology.

Residency Preference: A person applying for a position who is a bona fide District resident at the time of application for the position, may be awarded a 10-point residency preference over non-District applicants, unless the person declines the preference points. If selected, the person shall be required to present no less than 8 proofs of bona fide District residency on or before the effective date of the appointment and maintain such residency for 7 consecutive years from the effective date of the appointment. Failure to maintain bona fide District residency for the 7-year period will result in forfeiture of employment.
Drug-Free Workplace: Pursuant to the requirements of the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, the individual selected to fill this position will, as a condition of employment, be required to notify his/her immediate supervisor, in writing, not later than five (5) days after conviction of any criminal drug statute occurring in the workplace.
Background Investigation: Employment with the University of the District of Columbia is contingent upon a satisfactory background investigation. The determination of a "satisfactory background investigation" is made at the sole discretion of the University of the District of Columbia.
