Key Responsibilities:

A Technicians’ typical workday is from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Work on an overtime basis as needed.

Be able to take emergency weekend calls on rotational basis
- Deliver client-focused solutions based on customer needs.
-
Schedules, directs, and provides technical support for technicians to meet service demands and customers’ expectations.
-
Will be the first layer of operational management for the technicians working on the stores in your area.
-
Additional store responsibilities are subject to change, at any moment, based on customer/service needs.
-
Main point of contact for every service call in your area.
-
Help coordinate workload for all work in the area.
-
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training technicians as required to meet time.
-
Work with Customer Advocate (Office and Field) to assist with any service work needing completion.
-
Assist the Quoting Department with any questions they may have.
-
Participate in meetings as needed.
-
Responsible for scheduling, organizing, and communicating the monthly On-Call Calendar.
-
The On-Call Calendar must be completed and submitted to Executives, HR and Dispatch 30 days before the On-Call Calendar goes into effect.
-
Manages the daily operations of all service calls in the area. If someone on the team is not able to handle the service call, then dispatch will be informed.
-
Communicates daily with dispatch reporting on project information, estimated time to complete jobs, labor hours and parts or material used.
-
Responsible for technicians’ performance appraisals, reviews and for setting improvement goals per company requirements.
-
Communicates regularly with dispatch to ensure that personnel are being scheduled properly by skill level, efficiency, and training requirements.
-
Conducts group and one-on-one meetings with technicians as required for training, evaluation, and general communication; participates and/or conducts regularly scheduled departmental safety/informational meetings.
-
Establishes and maintains a regular training program to ensure that technicians are properly trained on latest service techniques and safety procedures for equipment and general working conditions.
-
Develops and monitors budgets, goals, and objectives to insure departmental profitability.
-
Maintaining and maximizing current customer base at the field level.
-
Maintains communication with vendors and factory personnel concerning warranty issues, product recall notices, operational problems with products, premature failures, and other issues as they apply to products and equipment sold.
-
Manages larger installation, start-up, and commissioning projects; coordinates and directs a team of technicians.
-
Employees must have a high level of customer service to work at retail businesses including Restaurants, Delis, Grocery Store Chains, Convenience Store Chains, Supermarkets, Schools, Hotels, Hospitals and Military Bases.

Attending appropriate technical, safety and manufacturer training.
-
Ensures that all company/department policies are being followed by all technicians.
-
Monitors service vehicles to ensure they are in an acceptable condition to allow technicians to efficiently work out of the vehicle, and that an adequate inventory of parts and material is maintained.

Obtain a clear understanding of RSC Mechanical’s Parts Order Form

Correctly complete necessary documents (work tickets and timesheets) in a thorough, accurate and timely manner. Demonstrate ability to complete necessary customer paperwork and invoicing requirements.

Drive a company vehicle safely to customer locations.
-
Must maintain access to customer remote monitoring systems.
-
Specifies and makes sure that required parts are ordered in a timely fashion to ensure work deadlines are met.
-
Reviews work orders, invoices, and time reports for accuracy, and to ensure timely cash flow and maintain minimal account receivables.
Skills:

Evaluate, service, repair, and install the following equipment:
-
Commercial Refrigeration Systems Refrigeration Equipment – reach-ins, walk-ins, Fixtures, display cases, cold storage units, and Control Systems.
-
Ice Makers, Refrigeration systems/equipment, Ice Maker mechanisms.
-
Electrical and electronic Control systems for all types of commercial refrigeration systems.
-
Diagnose and repair commercial RTU, commercial split, and commercial mini split systems.
-
Diagnose and repair WIC, WIF, and remote refrigeration systems.
-
Diagnose and repair reach-in, and self-contained refrigeration.
-
Provide PM support to all contracted customers and equipment designated for PM.
-
Diagnose and repair ice machines.
-
Diagnose and repair large grocery store commercial HVAC systems such as AAON, Seasons 4, Chillers and CPC control equipment.
-
Repair and maintain proper operation of Glycol systems, CO2 systems, and refrigeration compressor Rack systems.
-
Operate HVAC/R diagnostic equipment.
-
Weld and braze with an open flame.
-
Demonstrate proper procedure when locating a leak.
-
Ability to handle hazardous chemicals.
-
Proficient in operation of smart phone, tablet and/or laptop.
-
Must be able to assist technicians remotely on any EMS questions they may have.
-
Can fully program the EMS controllers that are utilized by all customers.
-
Must be able to safely handle dangerous tasks and duties without any physical and/or mental restrictions.
-
Utilize necessary portable hand tools.
-
Maintain and manage truck inventory in an accurate, neat, and orderly manner and adhere to Vehicle Maintenance Program guidelines.
-
Ability to work outdoors in difficult conditions, including adverse weather conditions.
-
The capability to thrive under high pressure and high stress environments.
Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma required
-
Certified to properly handle refrigerant for systems.
-
Obtain additional licenses and certifications as appropriate.
-
EPA Universal Certification Required
-
Self-Motivated- Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision.
-
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
-
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, detail oriented and highly motivated.
-
Must have a proficient understanding of refrigeration system controllers. If you do not have knowledge of a controller being utilized by an assigned customer, RSC will provide the training needed.

Technician must be able to walk, climb a 28-foot extension ladder, bend, squat down for a least a short time, jump, and lift at least 50 pounds.
