Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude. Able to work in a team environment. Has good communication skills both verbally and written. Experience with mechanics on either cars or boat engines. Ability to troubleshoot systematically to achieve root cause of problems. Is willing to take ownership of the work and clean up after themselfes. Able to take care of shop equipment and tools with respect. Must be able to climb in an out of boats and into small spaces. Must be willing to cross train on varying tasks. In General, we are looking for someone that understands when they do not understand and be willing to develop an understanding using hard thinking or research. We work on outboard engines and inboard engines. There is plenty of support from both manufacturers and in-house technicians. The work is generally much cleaner than auto-mechanics and we have much more fun. Customers are much easier to please when we are working on their source of stress relief. We service boats, motors and trailers. We prep new pontoons, ski boats, and various other marine related for sale. Our intention is to find someone that is already trained in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical that has their own tools that is willing to learn the marine business.
