Job Description:
Registered Nurse to provide care and support to terminally ill patients. A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR (CURRENT) HOSPICE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Your presence and services should bring comfort to the person who faces the end of their lives and help them reach acceptance and peace of mind. For this role, you need to be a registered nurse who sees the value of hospice care in alleviating pain and suffering. A compassionate nature and excellent interpersonal skills will make you a good candidate for this position. We expect you to be knowledgeable in caring for the terminally ill, performing tasks such as administering medication and providing emotional support. The goal is to help patients live their final days with dignity and comfort.
Responsibilities :Collaborate with physicians and other professionals to plan care. Review Nursing notes and be compliant. Make frequent visits to the patient to evaluate their condition. Provide support and comfort according to individual patient’s needs. Work with caregivers to plan and execute excellent patient care. Help in administering medication. Alleviate sudden symptoms of the disease’s end phase. Notify a doctor for a patient’s condition when deemed necessary. Assist patients and their families with paperwork. Maintain accurate records Help relatives cope with the upcoming loss and provide post-death support. Requirements: Proven experience as hospice nurse or registered nurse. One year of current Hospice Case Manager or Hospice Home Health experience (This is a non-negotiable requirement).Current BLS certificate (AHA)Come join our team of healthcare professionals.
Job Requirements:
- Requires RN license in the states in which Silver State Hospice Care operates and successful completion of nursing education from an accredited school of nursing. Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or other position related field preferred.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of Hospice and Palliative Care regulations, accreditation standards, license requirements, federal and state laws in the states in which Silver State Hospice Care operates.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact and communicate in a professional and tactful manner with all internal and external customers.
- Must have an understanding of the principles of financial management of hospice services.
- Must possess the ability to collect and analyze data to improve clinical care, decrease cost, and improve financial outcomes.
- Must demonstrate strong problem solving, reasoning, and critical thinking skills as well as communication (oral and written) skills.
- Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of a variety of computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access, Windows).
- Must be CPR certified.
