The
Vice President of People Operations is to contribute to the growth and development of this organization's business through the establishment of a world-class human resource function that partners with executive leadership to recruit, develop, and retain great people that embody SWH’s core values. The VP People Operations will work closely with executive leadership to develop talent, organizational structures, succession plans, and systems to support our people.
This position will lead the development of a world-class people operations function including policies, systems, programs, and practices supporting SWH’s performance-based culture that supports our mission and embodies our core values. This hands-on professional will be as adept in the strategic implications of planned growth as in the day-to-day application of consistent motivational policies and practices. Reports to the COO.
Comp: $214,700 + PTO/Benefits package
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises a total of 5 or more employees in the People Operations department.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing,
hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Be a trusted business partner to the Executive Team
- Establishes the strategic people operations initiatives; executes this strategy in collaboration with company leadership
- Builds and directs the total company-wide people operations function including compensation and benefit programs, departmental budget, recruiting, competency modeling, training, employee retention, record keeping and automated systems to support these functions
- Develops and manages new reward and retention programs including executive compensation and bonuses
- Continuously reviews and recommends enhancements and/or modifications to the Company’s benefit programs
- Facilitates the continued development of the corporate culture, positioning the Company for profitable growth and operational excellence
- Benchmarks best practices and modifies people ops programs and practices to ensure achievement of the business strategy
- Reviews and assists in the design, formulation and establishment of organizational structures that support corporate growth strategies and fiscal objectives
- Works with the CEO to ensure appropriate compensation programs are in place and all regulatory requirements are met including timely and accurate reporting
- Develops and implements a formal and pro-active talent acquisition and development program including planning, guidance, and programming to enhance career development for high-potential employees and succession preparedness across the Company
- Develops and implements a comprehensive, efficient, people operations data system creating a functional, integrated, and scalable corporate resource
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Keeps the COO and other key management informed of people operation activities, trends and planned initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Experience in developing and using HRIS
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and a focus on metrics that will increase performance and retention
- Be knowledgeable of all HR compliance requirements and be able to skillfully navigate compliance issues to a successful resolution
- Experience in developing succession plans and implementing leadership development programs
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required with an emphasis on human resource management, organizational development, or a related discipline
- At least fifteen years of human resource management experience required
- Must have reliable internet
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Previous experience in an education or learning environment and/or supporting multi-state operations
