Road Maintenance & Flagging - Columbia County Public Works
- Oregon Flagger's Certificate required, class and certification paid for by the employer.
- Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
- Pre-employment drug screen including THC.
Job Duties
- Perform flagging, as well as heavy manual and general labor.
- Assist with paint stripping projects.
- Set up signs and move obstacles.
- Position involves lifting 50-100 pounds regularly to move supplies and equipment.
- Position involves standing, walking, sitting, climbing, reaching, stooping, and kneeling repeatedly during each shift.
- Assist with hand loading and unloading of all types of materials.
- Brush, tree, and limb clearing with some chainsaw use, and removal of debris.
- Wash vehicles.
- Work in various weather conditions.
- Mow ditches, clear litter and brush or undergrowth in the summer, and plow snow during the winter.
- Repair guard rails, road markings, and patch broken pavement and potholes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule
- Work hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. with 1/2 hour lunch. May work later into the evening and additional days as needed.
Rate of Pay
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Driving: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)
