Wildflower Studios is New York's premier production facility designed to meet the specific needs of modern storytelling. Located in Queens, NY, just minutes from central Manhattan. Wildflower Studios offers a self-contained creative campus with eleven studio suites that can be combined, each featuring independent parking and access, spacious stages, and dedicated support spaces for seamless work throughout the production process.
Role Description
- At least 1 year of experience in the entertainment industry is required
- This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Manager at Wildflower Studios in Queens, NY.
Responsibilities:
- All accounting functions including monthly bank reconciliations, A/P, A/R, tenant invoicing
- Record daily bank deposits, outgoing wire/ACH payments and understanding of complex journal entries
- Track utility usage, equipment rental, leasing and bill-back to clients/projects
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping, accounting and records for each client/project and overall property management of the facility
- Prepare month-end reporting and related schedules
- Collect, file and pay quarterly sales tax
- Prepare monthly financial reports and analyze budget vs actual variances
- Prepare financial forecasts, annual budgets and reconcile tenant billings/operating expenses
- Collaborate with ownership in preparation of year-end audit/tax packages Special projects, as required
- Manage and oversee all daily accounting operations
- Processing Payroll
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close processes
- Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks for financial reporting
- Billing all rental assets
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in the entertainment industry is required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience
- Knowledgeable about accounting and financial reporting
- Highly proficient in Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat and accounting software (QuickBooks is preferred)
- Independent thinker and problem solver with strong analytical skills
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, strong communication skills, pro-active, and a team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective project and time management skills; ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
