Job Summary
Instruct, lead and train individuals in the fundamentals of fitness. Maintain every function of the Fitness Center at all times. Design and implement programs/classes to serve the fitness center and club members. Maintain an exemplary level of customer service. Supervise fitness department and staff.
Key Responsibilities
-
Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement
- Offer multiple types of classes in order to accommodate different ages and fitness levels
- Interview and hire specialty instructors as needed

Plan training sessions depending on members’ capabilities and limitations.
- Repair and maintain equipment and monitor wear and tear of equipment and order replacements as needed.
- Keep current on the latest fitness equipment, group classes, and programming and introduce to members.
- Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing all fitness center activities.
- Maintain relevant certifications (CPR/AED, training)
- Supervise, coordinate, and train fitness staff, group fitness instructors, and trainers motivating them to provide the highest quality customer service,
- Support country club as needed.
- Special projects as assigned by management
Candidate Qualifications
-
High-school graduate or GED equivalent required.
- BS in Exercise Science or equivalent required.
- Nationally certified by ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent required.
- CPR/AED certification required.
- 3-5 years experience in a country club or high-end hospitality setting with some supervisory experience required.
- Must have experience with first aid and customer contact.
- Must possess general knowledge of business and management principles.
- Able to interact successfully with a variety of people in person with attention to comprehending information.
- Excellent oral communication skills as well as understanding written communication in work-related documents.
- Must be confident of skills and have the ability to make sounds, independent decisions when appropriate.
- Have the willingness to adjust to and conform to varying schedules

Have excellent communication skills and be able to get along well with others.
Physical Requirements:
-
Capable of standing and moving for extended periods during shifts.
-
Able to lift and carry stock weighing up to 55 pounds.
Certification:
-
CPR/AED certification
- ACE, ACDM, NSCA certification
