Job Description - Check Processing Clerk
Gallagher Construction Services is seeking a candidate who is a motivated, self-starter to join our highly respected construction team at our Richardson office. Gallagher Construction provides construction management services for publicly funded projects.
This position has a heavy emphasis on following strict processes and deadlines with additional administrative duties as required. This check processing coordinator position is NOT A/P and A/R, which requires a non-traditional approach to processing checks.
Primary responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Receive contractors checks from Clients, process contractor’s packet (information), send out e-mails regarding holds or releases respectively
- Follow-up on check holds weekly: inner office, field and paperwork, and update log appropriately
- Request, track and follow up with Project Managers and Internal Departments to obtain approvals or reasons for hold on contractor’s checks
- Receive and track back charges and reimbursements checks
- Organize and update check information into accounting software
- Update and maintain vehicle records and filings – including inspections, recall notice completion and ordering new tags
- New project start-up – Order new service for dumpsters, toilets, etc. maintain and track in spreadsheet for each project

- Ability to monitor own work to verify quality
- Ability to multi-task and take initiative, cheerfully and respectfully handling multiple assignments simultaneously and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines and follow up assignments with minimum direction.
