The Donna Klein Jewish Academy Middle School is seeking a dedicated, innovative, and qualified full-time History teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. We are searching for an individual who is passionate about teaching World Studies or History both inclusive of geography and a strong emphasis on reading and writing skills, tailored to the appropriate grade level. Candidates with experience in teaching through a Facing History and Ourselves Lens and a Workshop Model are strongly encouraged to apply.
Our ideal candidate is a dynamic and reflective teacher who thrives on engaging middle school students both inside and outside of the classroom, within the context of a Jewish Community Day School. They should demonstrate enthusiasm for adopting and adapting new curricula and methodologies. Proficiency and the ability to incorporate history through a multidisciplinary approach, integrating reading, writing and the arts is essential.
In addition to subject-specific responsibilities, all Middle School teachers serve as advisors and leaders within the advisory program. They may also teach electives, lead clubs, or organize special programs that enrich the school community. Collaboration and shared responsibility among faculty contribute to fostering a safe, nurturing, and supportive school environment.

- Possess a relevant undergraduate / graduate degree(s) from an accredited educational institution
- Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development in teaching & learning
- Utilize existing and emerging educational technologies to enhance instruction
- Effectively support students of varying abilities
- Exhibit a collaborative mindset and maintain a positive attitude within the teaching environment.
- Employ a combination of formal instruction and experiential learning strategies in the classroom.
