Project Manager/Estimator
Souza Construction, located in beautiful San Luis Obispo, CA, is currently hiring for a full-time Project Manager/Estimator in Heavy/Civil Construction. Job Duties:
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate together to achieve maximum project efficiency.
- Be a forward-thinking individual that stays a step ahead of the work being performed and knows where the project is going next while prioritizing your time and being self-motivated.
- Attend weekly PM meetings and provide deliverables (i.e. Schedules/project updates)
- Maintain project schedules from start to finish
- Once projects are awarded, attend all pre construction meetings
- Coordinate all project aspects with field operations
- Deliver and maintain all submittals per project guidelines
- Work with the project estimators to ensure any change orders that are needed for the project are priced
- Maintain correct monthly billings per items completed on projects
- Maintain the correct working plans for the project and keep the field crews up to date of changes
- Other tasks and duties may be assigned as needed
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience managing projects in heavy civil (grading, paving, utilities, structural concrete, subcontractors, etc.)
- Advanced Skills Excel, Outlook, HCSS Heavy Bid/Job, Primavera P6.
- Advanced plan reading skills and ability to understand plans and specifications.
- Experience in cost tracking, subcontracting, contract negotiation, purchase orders, and billing.
- Candidates must be problem solvers, well organized and excellent communicators.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- 5+ Years of Estimating and Project Management Experience
