Role: Program Manager/Sr. Project Manager – Data Center

Location: Hewlett, NY 11557 (Hybrid – 4 days onsite in a Month)

Responsibilities:
Conduct a series of work sessions with key stakeholders to review the Master Plan findings and further refine the requirements including:
- Prepare a summary of initial findings and review with the Team to solicit feedback
- Based on comments, finalize the IT Program Report which will serve to initial input to the A/E Team during their overall programming effort.
- Prepare the initial “Program Charter”
Develop Team Structure
- Help with external contractor positions, teaming approach, success factors, evaluation of infrastructure and IT options, IT migration strategies, updating of capacity and reliability requirements, reporting requirements, milestones, etc.
- Identify qualified external contractors (architect, engineer, construction manager, etc.) and issue RFQ’s to determine a refined list of candidates to receive subsequent Request for Proposal and Pricing.
- Assist with evaluating RFQ and RFP responses and identifying top candidates for formal negotiations
- Provide support, as required, during the negotiation process
Design Development
- Ensure synchronization of IT and Facility requirements and activities.
- Assist with leading the IT effort to complete all required Data Center / Control Center Design Elements with the A/E Team.
- Provide tactical and strategic solutions support for data center / control center design.
- Facilitate timely “check-points” and interim assessments of design solutions (for both IT and Facilities) and resulting costs against the approved budget.
- Participate in documentation / red-mark review as the drawings and specifications mature to final Construction Documents
- Collaborate with IT Team members to help ensure alignment of IT requirements with: Construction Documents, project budget, project schedule
IT Systems Migration
- Collaborate with IT stakeholders to develop and mature migration strategies consistent with the overall program (i.e. budget, schedule, etc.)
- Assist with project management and change control and consistent with the overall program to control scope creep, meet schedule and budget milestones, and mitigate risk
- Support the migration through completion and possibly through any decommissioning of legacy equipment
Requirements:
- Must have minimum 10+ years of experience with Data Center projects
- Must have experience managing Data Center projects from ground-up including experience working with the building general contractor, and cabling, video, network, storage vendors
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in large-scale IT Project Management environment
- Ability to manage multiple high visibility IT projects and program simultaneously
- Ability to manage multiple IT projects with internal resources and external vendors
- Must have good experience identifying and managing risks
- Expert understanding of the Project Management processes and methodologies
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

Pay: $79,430.16 - $95,657.84 per year
