JOB PURPOSE: The Machine Operator is responsible for the operation and minor preventative maintenance of machinery within their assigned area. Responsible for producing a high-quality product, quality, safety and environmental reporting, and production documentation.
AUTHORITY: All employees have the authority to stop operations/production for the following three reasons: 1) a quality defect, 2) an unsafe act, or 3) a health hazard.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Efficient operation of machinery such as: oven, injection mold press, trimmers, greasers, bead apply machines, welding machines, bolt machines, etc. to include elimination of pollution- Inspection of finished product within the work cell
- Packing of final product
- Responsible for quality documentation
- Responsible for documentation of production and environmental records
- Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications
- Ability to keep area clean, neat, and organized
- Report situations that may negatively affect the environment or cause pollution.
- Report safety hazards in the workplace promptly
- Report accidents, injuries, incidents, and near-misses promptly
- Responsible for working all hours required to support production needs and customer demands, including mandatory overtime
- Effectively perform any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary and appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Competencies and Education
An experienced individual with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing field. An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. A well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player. High School Diploma or GED, 10th Grade Math Level, and one to two years related experience preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate any information pertaining to the cell to any level of the organization.
