Position Summary:
The Member and Youth Engagement Coordinator works closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications and collaborates with the marketing and communications team to plan, develop and implement annual member and youth engagement plans, coordinate logistics for co-op events, and analyze outreach campaigns. The Member and Youth Engagement Coordinator is an energetic, action-oriented professional, passionate about our co-op community and making a difference in the lives of our members. They are committed to finding opportunities and creative ways to positively impact the quality of life for our members and in the communities served by JCE Co-op while promoting the co-op value.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Is responsible for developing, implementing, and measuring JCE Co-op’s member and youth outreach and engagement activities.
2. Prepares presentations, makes public appearances, and/or coordinates booth space at community, school, home shows, fairs, festivals, and other promotional events.
3. Interacts with members and key audiences to enhance awareness of JCE Co-op and co-op value.
4. Assists the Director of Marketing and Communications in reviewing and evaluating sponsorship requests and evaluating for additional outreach opportunities.
5. Recruits and encourages other co-op employees to participate in community and co-op events; administers the JCE Co-op Ambassador program.
6. Plans and coordinates logistics for a variety of member-focused co-op events, including but not limited to member appreciation days and other special events.
7. Collaborates with the team to plan meetings and activities for the Member Advisory Council, which may include meeting logistics/planning, attending meetings, assisting with presentations and correspondence with members; acts as the lead in planning and coordinating the logistics of the annual meeting.
8. Administers youth programs, including Youth Day, Youth Tour, and the Summer Coloring Contest; assists with the JCE Scholarship Program.
9. Coordinates the Touchstone Energy Co-op Connections Card program, including recruiting local businesses, maintaining relationships with participating local businesses, and promoting the program and its benefits to members.
10. Develop content for co-op publications (external and internal) and social media, draft press releases, and develop other forms of communication to highlight JCE Co-op’s community and youth engagement.
11. Manage timelines and resource allocations for engagement projects and events.
12. Serves on rotation for social media response during crisis, incident and/or storm situations.
13. Collaborates with the team to conduct research to understand, build, and refine target member profiles to increase the visibility of and participation in campaigns, programs, and member activities.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in communications, public relations, marketing or another relevant field.
2. At least four years of practical, related work experience is required.
3. Must demonstrate superior interpersonal skills and the aptitude for working well as part of a team. Must have strong project and time management skills.
4. Requires the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences in public settings and be able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities.
5. Experience with Microsoft Office products and graphic design software (Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva or equivalent digital media editing/design tools).
6. Ability to use Asana or similar project/task management software.
Working Conditions
1. Normal working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
2. Needs to travel independently to various locations inside and outside the Cooperative’s service territory. Some overnight travel may be required.
3. Usually working indoors in a normal business environment, but with day trips in or near the service area, including site visits with the public or areas where crews work.
4. Attendance at evening and weekend events will be necessary.
5. Meets all deadlines, fulfills scheduling commitments, and consistently achieves quick turnarounds in a rapidly changing environment.
6. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
Physical Demands of the Position
- Physical activity, including walking, stooping, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs., climbing, kneeling, reaching, crawling, and pushing. Repetitive motion with hands and fingers.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately for work and safety compliance. Must be able to see close and far distances.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
