POSITION PURPOSE: The Maintenance Technician role is responsible for supporting operations, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment is running optimally.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two-year technical degree preferred. Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of mechanical, steam, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Must be able to perform basic electrical & instrumentation troubleshooting. Must be able to comprehend P&IDs and electrical schematics. Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and all levels of management.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Job requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Willing to work overtime and on-call infrequently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires the ability to stand for a minimum of 3-6 hours per day; sit, walk, bend over, and reach above head at a minimum of 2 hours per day; minimal lifting or carrying of 50 pounds occasionally. Able to access all areas of the plant including the roof and areas above equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for independently troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical, steam, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
· Basic electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting
· Perform scheduled PM’s and WO’s as assigned
· Performs the necessary activities to operate, maintain, and clean production equipment. Understands, follows, and improves documented operational, maintenance, and sanitation standards in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) work environment.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
· Ability to work overtime and be on-call as needed
· Adhere to all safety requirements, company policies, and procedures
· Other duties as assigned
