Job Purpose:
Monitor product quality by performing various prescribed test methods, document results, analyze results according to criteria provided, communicate deficiencies to management, assist with problem resolution and document any resulting actions, and maintain housekeeping in the lab.
Essential Functions and Requirements:
- Conduct prescribed test methods using a variety of laboratory equipment according to established schedules and procedures
- Perform equipment inspection, setup, adjustments, and minor repairs with minimal supervision
- Ensure adherence to acceptable performance standards for test methods and conduct necessary calculations for converting test data into usable results
- Document test results accurately and in accordance with established protocols
- Analyze test results against provided criteria and communicate any discrepancies to management
- Assist in problem resolution and document resulting actions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab
- Perform other tasks as directed by management
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain awareness of and perform tasks in compliance with all internal policies, procedures and practices, as described in the Employee Handbook, all Safety Manuals, all Quality System Procedures, and other instructions provided by management, as well as applicable OSHA regulations
- Identify, troubleshoot and report the following to management: equipment defects or malfunctions; out of spec material or contamination; safety issues or incidents
- Initiating actions up to and including equipment shutdown, to mitigate a safety, environmental, and/or product quality incident
- Effective verbal communication with co-workers and management is required. Certain reports and other communication will be required in writing
Pre-Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Preferred candidates should have prior work history performing laboratory and/or quality control responsibilities or similar oversight experience in a manufacturing environment
Salary:
- Starting pay is based on experience
