JOB TITLE: Product Data Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Engineering Department
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Technical Services Group (TSG) is responsible for a variety of duties within the Engineering Department. These duties include support for Customer Service, requests for technical information and support of the external sales force. The group is primarily responsible for the control and maintenance of Product Data. Product data can be found within Owner’s Manual, Technical Document, Drawing, Product Configurators and ERP Software.
GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and maintain the companies use of Technical Data Outlets: Product Configurators, Engineering Documents, Website/E-Commerce, Owner’s Manuals, Drawings.

Convert product data into code to develop product line configuration models for overhead lifting products. The models will be utilized by E-Commerce, Customer Service and Sales to configure, price and quote product orders. Model development and its variables are used to create technical content for sales content, production routings and bills of materials.

The Product Data Specialist will work closely with Design Engineers and Product Development to bring new products to market and maintain existing product lines.

Support annual price adjustments, by performing model adjustments and testing.

Interact with other departments to remedy bugs or errors within the models to ensure accuracy, product safety and enhance interfaces. Interactions to fix active models should be conducted with a sense of urgency and consideration for future improvement/root cause correction.

Direct, guide, and assist department staff in the development and preparation of technical documents (e.g., drawings, calculations, reports, analyses, specifications) that are required in the execution of the department’s functions.

Continuously streamline and automate the effective dissemination of changes throughout Technical Control outlets to reduce the number of “touches” each outlet requires.

Initiate and execute projects to improve the department’s Technical Control.

Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.

Communicate with customers, department personnel, supervisors, department managers and other company personnel to properly disseminate Technical Control activities and status.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
-
Proficient with Configure One® or similar CPQ software.
-
Experience with Java Script and HTML is beneficial.

Software: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.

Knowledge of standard practices in engineering processes.

Knowledge of Best Practices for technical control.

Presentation skills to small-to-medium size audiences.

Written and verbal communication skills.

Operation of office equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Occasional lifting.

Ability to sit 7+ hours per day.
