Would you like to provide support services to foster and adoptive families? We are looking for people who are willing to engage with families and establish strengths-based relationships. The person will also assist the Child and Family Team for the purpose of implementing the Plan of Care that is family-centered, community-oriented, strengths-based, and highly individualized.
Some functions include:
- Meeting families where they are and providing parents and children with a safe environment that will promote a stronger emotional family connection.
- Assessing and identifying areas of concern for both parents and children and addressing those in a nurturing loving way using the Post method.
- Encouraging communication of emotions and feelings with parents and children.
- Coaching one-on-one with a child or group of children, or parents, as necessary.
- Assessing the day of the parents and the children to support processing of challenging situations.
- Encouraging fun so that learning becomes a natural part of the process.
- Demonstrating the qualities of Mindfulness, Regulation, and Understanding -- those of a positive role model for parents and children.
Qualities we are looking for in an applicant:
- A reliable individual who will help reduce the stress in the family.
- Someone who is creative in ways to meet the family's needs.
- Someone who is able to work independently with a family as well as consult with a team.
- An individual who has had experience working with stressful/difficult situations.
- Someone who is able to meet families in their homes or other designated destinations.
