The Learning & Development Specialist - Field operations, or as we like to call it, Corporate Field Trainer, is responsible for core training of all field operations personnel in all markets of True Homes. This individual is responsible to train on the strategies, standards, methods, and processes of the Construction Compass, the understanding of the company culture, True Value, and ownership. The Sr. L&D Specialist works with the Market Partners to facilitate Field track for each associate in their market.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains field operations training programs to meet the needs of the organization
- Coaches and teaches field associates to help them understand and adhere to the True Home’s culture, compass training, True Value, and ownership
- Provides specific training to each field associate to provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful
- Provides individual feedback to Market Partners – Plant on their associates’ strengths, growth opportunities, and their opportunity for success to accomplish training goals
- Develops and maintains training systems and reporting in combination with the needs of the department, Market Partners, and trainees
- Provides assistance to Market Partners and Executive Partner – Field Operations/Plant in the hiring process of interviewing, Caliper review, and the vetting of candidates
- Provides timely departmental training and communication on roll-outs, process changes, hot-spots, and other vital information and evaluates implementation for success
- Represents the department in the weekly Field Management System meeting and others as needed
- Creates and implements training videos in True University
- Performs other duties as needed or required
Results/Accountability:
- Ensures that Comprehensive Phase I core training program, Comprehensive Phase II field track training and testing program, and Comprehensive Phase III Coaching for success program are established and maintained
- Ensures that core training, Field track training, and coaching for success program are organized, implemented, and completed by departmental deadlines
- Establishes new hire training milestones and objectives
- Ensures that all Builders are core certified within 3 months of joining a team
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with relevant work experience required
- Associate degree in construction management or education preferred
- Three or more years of experience in Residential Construction or related field
- Detailed understanding of residential construction processes and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft office and basic general computer and video editing
- Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and reliable personal transportation required for travel to NC and SC as needed to include some overnight trips
- Occasional evening or weekend computer work may be required
- OSHA certification, Erosion Control Certification, and/or General Contractor license preferred

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold or extreme heat.
