The Tower Foreman is responsible for leading a team of tower hands and ensuring the safety and efficiency of tower climbing and maintenance tasks. This role focuses on identifying and resolving performance issues at cell sites within mobile networks, utilizing various tower climbing equipment, safety gear, and electrical test instrumentation covering RF, fiber, and digital techniques. The Tower Foreman will also oversee the planning, coordination, and supervision of tower crew activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of tower hands in performing tower climbs and maintenance tasks.
- Analyze and address technical issues at cell sites, implementing improvements for passive intermodulation performance and other critical parameters.
- Adhere to and enforce safety protocols, maintaining a "zero tolerance" approach to safety violations.
- Utilize and oversee the use of various test instruments, validating process improvements for interference mitigation.
- Write detailed reports and document observations according to company standards.
- Engage in customer-facing activities, such as project reviews and troubleshooting, as needed.
- Plan and coordinate tower crew activities, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of company-issued property, including vehicles, test equipment, and safety gear.
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development programs.
- Travel domestically as project requirements dictate.
General Functions and Tasks:
- Understand and analyze customer requirements and system configurations.
- Suggest and implement process improvements.
- Operate various test instruments for interference mitigation tasks including the operation of kaelus iVA and iPA.
- Stay current with industry knowledge through continuous learning and networking.
- Assist in preparing technical documents, including test plans and risk assessments.
- Recommend enhancements to improve customer experience.
- Comply with all company policies and supervisor instructions.
- Perform additional duties as reasonably required.
Specific Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience with troubleshooting internal and external Passive Intermodulation.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders, towers, or work on scissor lifts.
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- Commitment to maintaining safety, technical, and compliance certifications.
- Availability for travel and fieldwork, including at remote locations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and independently manage tasks.
