Be a part of Kidokinetics (www.kidokinetics.com), a fitness and sports program for kids ages (2-10years). To be successful in this role, you must have a strong love for coaching young children.
The Instructor/coach is responsible for implementing the Kidokinetics curriculum/lesson plans, ensuring each child has a positive and successful Kidokinetics experience, and is responsible for the well-being of each student who attends a Kidokinetics class. Ultimately it is the coach’s responsibility to carry out the mission of Kidokinetics: helping children enhance coordination, concentration, hand-eye coordination, and gross motor skills in a fun and non-competitive environment.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong love for children & teaching children. Candidate must possess a high energy, positive approach with a genuine desire to impact young children’s lives through sports. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The coach reports directly to the Kidokinetics Director of North Chicago
Pay rate: Starting pay ranges from $18-$25 / hour, depending on experience and can grow to $25-$30/hr after 6 months. Compensation is also provided for training, travel time, and administrative tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares events, activities, lessons, games, and classes in accordance with the guidelines of Kidokinetics Inc.
- Partners with the Head Coach in scheduling of classes
- Scheduling & ensuring schedule is updated online at all times.
- Subs/ subbing as necessary
- Classes are held at various locations also you will be networking with prospective locations & traveling to meet with them so dependable transportation is a must.
- Assisting in managing current clients
- Abides by the safety guidelines of Kidokinetics Inc. at all times
- Conducts classes in an enthusiastic, nurturing manner
- Must be able to carry & transport equipment that is 15-20 lbs.
- Must be physically able to lead the children in activities like running & jumping, plus ground stretches including push-ups and sit-up
- Arrives to each class prior to start times
- Arrives to each class prepared with the appropriate lesson plans, equipment, supplies, and other materials
- Set up a sign and/or banner for display at the location
- Takes care of sports equipment and supplies
- Makes every effort to connect one-on-one with each child
- Addresses concerns or special needs for children and caregivers
- Is a good role model for young children physically, emotionally, and socially
- Works as part of a team
- Provides an environment of acceptance that supports and respects cultural differences
- Provides a safe environment for children and caregivers
- Addresses concerns or special needs for children and caregivers
- Sets clear, consistent limits, has realistic expectations, and uses positive methods of child guidance
- Provides opportunities for each child to develop feelings of competence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude toward physical activity and learning
- Participates in training to improve skills and professional competencies
- Serves as a good role model—physically, emotionally, and socially— for the children, teachers and attending parents
- Must be willing & able to pass a background test & drug test per State Child Care guidelines
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Passion for youth, physical activity, physical literacy, and sports
- Experience coaching sports to kids (Age group 3 to 12 years old)
- A great personality with high energy levels
- Genuine passion for working with kids
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license or state ID
- Ability to pass a background check
- High School diploma
- Monday-Saturday Availability
- Eligible to work in the U.S.

About Kidokinetics:
Kidokinetics is an exciting and unique mobile sports program developed to provide children with the opportunity to improve their fitness, while developing their coordination and self-confidence. The program teaches the basic skills of various sports with a focus on developing motor skills in a fun and non-competitive environment. Kidokinetics also offers birthday parties, camp, and enrichment programs. Our mission is to help children develop lasting self-confidence and a lifelong love of physical fitness.
The program is offered at various locations (daycares, preschools, elementary schools, after-school program locations, community centers and residential homes) and classes are structured and age-appropriate for children ages 24-months (parent & me) to 12-years. The classes are high energy and most importantly fun for children, and the coaches!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
