Job Overview:
The Aerospace Component Rework / Hand Finish Technician specializing in finishing components used in aerospace industry. This includes intricate machined parts made from specialized Aerospace Alloys like Aluminum, Titanium, and Inconel. Machines tight tolerance highly complex aerospace castings, forgings, titanium, and aluminum using a metrology-based machining and inspection processes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Expertly reworks and applies specialized finishes to aerospace components, ensuring they meet drawing tolerance.
- Utilize advanced deburring and hand finishing techniques to perfect component surfaces and eliminate imperfections.
- Maintain accurate records of data and measurements, crucial for tracking component quality and adherence to specifications.
- Verifies dimensional compliance of components using precision tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Actively contribute suggestions for process improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned, adapting to the dynamic needs of aerospace component rework.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma a minimum, with specialized training or have worked in aerospace reworking castings, forging and machined aerospace components.
- Extensive experience in Aerospace component overhaul and repair, particularly with components made from aluminum, titanium, and Inconel-based alloys.
- Proficient in the use of a wide range of power and hand tools, with a focus on precision and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the aerospace industry, specifically in component overhaul and repair.
- Ability to interpret and follow detailed work instructions and technical documentation.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. repeatedly, with the endurance to stand for extended periods during meticulous hand-finishing work.
