Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- A controller is a financial expert who manages a company's accounting operations and monitors its financial health. They are responsible for many tasks, including:
- Financial reporting: Preparing periodic financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future expenses or earnings
- Accounting: Overseeing the accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable departments
- Budgeting: Managing the annual budget and forecasts, and communicating significant budget differences to management
- Financial analysis: Assessing capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards, and tax compliance issues
- Auditing: Coordinating activities of internal and external auditors, and providing transactional records and accounting information to them
- Performance metrics: Developing and monitoring financial performance metrics
Education/Experience:
- AA or BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and numbers. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
