Job Description
The role of the BCaBA Program Coordinator (PC) at Autism Matters is to manage behavior therapy services provided to clients to maintain the highest quality of treatment. Primary responsibilities include oversight of client programming, supervision of employees, training, and stimuli maintenance. The BCaBA Program Coordinator is a self-motivated leader that works directly with the Program Manager to assist in the oversight of the ABA program for clients on their caseload.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provides active treatment and training to clients in the areas of self-help, language development, control of challenging behaviors, community living, safety, social skills, and gross and fine motor development
- Conduct 1:1 or 2:1 therapy sessions to improve clients' mental and physical well-being
- Obtain information from medical records, staff, family members and the clients to assess clients' capabilities, needs and interests
- Observe, analyze, and record clients' participation, reactions, and progress during treatment sessions on documentation forms
- Confer with members of treatment team to plan and evaluate therapy programs Instruct client in activities and techniques designed to meet their specific physical or psychological needs
- Implement treatment plan to meet needs of client, based on needs assessment, patient interests, and objectives of therapy
- Prepare and submit documentation in a timely manner to treatment team to reflect clients' reactions and evidence of progress or regression
- Demonstrates and models the consistent use of positive and proactive behavior management techniques
- Completes and maintains timely and effective written documentation of evaluations, reassessments, treatment plans, and daily progress notes with minimal errors
- Provides on-going training, support and guidance
- Provides individual, group and family skills training to appropriate parties
- Communicates information to guardians of clients and the clinical team members
- Communicates, collaborates, and educates effectively with professionals, parents, and caregivers to carryover strategies, generalize skills, and best support the client and family
- Conducts Family Caregiver Training and Counseling in order to provide support and consistency across environments
- Participates in client intake assessments and development of materials prior to start of services
- Assesses, monitors, and documents client progress and responses to interventions
- Completes observation and direction to senior behavior therapists and behavior therapists to ensure high treatment integrity
- Provides BCBA supervision, if applicable
- Provides clinical direction and support to the clinic when management is unavailable
- Have more independence in programming and treatment plan development based on supervision needs and/or certification level
- Participates in community outreach events
- Consults with other professionals in treatment planning, parent training, and skill generalization for all clients
- Documents coordination of therapies and services with other providers, such as (as applicable) school district, physician, physical, occupational, and speech therapies
