The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

Recruit, train and lead a team of equipment mechanics in the maintenance, servicing and repair of The Boring Company’s field equipment, including, but not limited to: Cranes, forklifts, generators, trucks, telehandlers, boom lifts and excavators.

Create Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for all assigned field equipment identifying equipment manufacturer’s recommended maintenance action and frequency. Create reporting that identifies on-time / lagging PM completion; ensure 100% on-time PM completion and report same to management.

Create inventory and inventory tracking of all parts and tools required for PMs with the goal of 100% inventory accuracy and 0 stockouts on PM parts and tools.

Create a tri-level maintenance program that defines PM, intermediate level maintenance and depot level maintenance. Identify local and regional contractors who can be called upon to provide intermediate and depot level maintenance to supplement The Boring Company’s internal field equipment mechanics.

Create scopes of work for all external service and repairs; ensure accuracy of contractor diagnoses, labor, time and materials prior to contract award.

Graduation from a technical school, including specialized military training programs.

10 years as an industrial fleet mechanic with supervisory experience.

Detailed knowledge of internal combustion engines and components including auto-electric, hydraulic and mechanical systems.

Ability to diagnose malfunctions and apply corrective actions.

Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.

Possess a current CDL.

Strong organizational and task-switching skills.

Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

Ability to work under pressure, compartmentalize and prioritize changing conditions.

Able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Position may require extended work hours.
