- Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- The M/W/DBE Business Lending Associate will come with experience and a mission-driven mentality to advance financial justice work on behalf of our target market of Black, Latino, LMI and women entrepreneurs. Will work with M/W/DBEs to provide contract-based financing, networking, and bringing opportunities to clients.
Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution plus a minimum of 3-5 years work experience in M/W/DBE business development, financial management and/or lending with a track record of success in assisting M/W/DBEs in accessing capital. Alternatively, a Masters degree with 3 years experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction business sector and strategies for enhancing its growth.
- Experience in contracting with primes and/or government agencies.
- Familiar with existing M/W/DBE businesses in the New York City area with reliable contacts and extremely advanced networking and follow-up skills.
- Knowledge of and experience in public and private sector fcontracting opportunities for M/W/DBEs, as well as demonstrated experience in reviewing financial statements and loan applications in depth.
- Experience in successfully preparing M/W/DBEs with traditional sources of capital, alternative sources of financing, loan and bonding packages. Experience working with financial institutions and CDFIs a major plus.
- Background in execution of relationship management that involves financial documentation and review.
- Ability to deliver and/or support the program services and fulfill the work requirements of BOC Capital Corp. CDFI.
- Ability to effectively utilize required information and reporting systems
- Possess a collaborative mindset that enables clients to fully leverage the expertise available throughout the BOC Network by partnering with program leads and utilizing expertise available at other BOC programs and partners.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills needed to take action pertaining to the challenges faced by minority business owners and willingness to participate in information and policy-related dialogue with leadership and strategic partners.
- Skills needed to engage in client strategic business development (capacity building) including financial analysis services and quality management initiatives.
- Ability to contribute to program promotion and advocacy to promote the activities and brand within the business community, facilitate the identification of high quality clients, and identify public and private sector resources and opportunities for clients.
- Bilingual Spanish highly preferred.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
