Job Overview:
Timberline Title & Escrow, an Idaho-based company is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant & Office Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in regulatory reporting, financial auditing, and possess strong knowledge of financial software and tools like QuickBooks. Knowledge of budgeting, general ledger reconciliation, GAAP, and record keeping is highly desirable.
In this position, you must be able to handle daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to pivot between different areas of responsibility while maintaining accurate records. This is a position that requires knowledge of the company’s processes and procedures, as well as excellent client support skills over the phone and through email.
As an Accountant & Office Administrator you will report to the Manager and your initial job duties and responsibilities are to oversee all facets of the accounting processes including:
- Daily collection and disbursement of funds for Closings and Escrow accounts while ensuring accurate record keeping
- Run Accounts Payable to include accurate G/L coding, entering and scanning images of payables, mailing payments out to vendors, updating check registers to account for bills paid and updating Positive Pay
- Monthly GL closings and monthly financial reporting
- Preparation of Financial Reports
- Monitor regulatory compliance issues and assure regulatory compliance where necessary
- Work with our Auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure fair and accurate reporting of our financial position
- Ensure that all taxes are reported and paid
- Process employee bi-weekly payroll and all taxes and reporting associated with payroll
- Manage office operations and procedures
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Support staff with various administrative tasks
- Participate in training and educational opportunities as they become available
- Promote a quality working environment
- Work to streamline office procedures to most efficiently carry out daily tasks
- Be familiar with and follow company safety policies and procedures
- Assist in the Marketing efforts as a representative of Timberline Title & Escrow
- Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 5+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience
- Must be comfortable with technology
- Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
- Must have excellent writing skills and be a good communicator
- Obtain and/or maintain Notary Public Certification (company will assist)
- Ability to problem solve and work independently in a fast-paced team environment
- Work on-site; this is not a remote position
- Preferred but not required: experience in the Title & Escrow, Mortgage, or Lending industry.
- Familiarity with financial software and tools like QuickBooks
