Position Title: Environmental Compliance Inspector
Department: Store Development
Primary Purpose of Job:
Perform environmental compliance tasks and inspections required by local/state/federal regulations involving the fueling system and other regulatory driven obligations at stores. Ability to sign off on state or federal forms as a competent person in this field. Maintain a professional working relationship with regulatory agency inspectors and the customers. Work efficiently using good routing and time management skills to quickly prioritize tasks and inspections with limited oversight. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a limited/defined range of fueling system equipment according to established safety procedures.
Major Functions:
Perform environmental compliance tasks and inspections according to applicable regulatory requirements and company standards, including:
a. Monthly and annual underground storage tank (UST) walkthrough inspections
b. Dispenser shear valve inspections
c. UST overfill prevention inspections.
d. Oil-water separator inspections and maintenance/cleaning oversight
e. Regulatory agency inspection assistance
f. Pre- and post-regulatory agency inspection management and corrective actions
g. Cathodic protection rectifier readings
h. Site Check inspection program
i. Inspect and maintain fuel spill resources at stores.
j. Assist with water removal from fuel system.
k. Other Environmental duties and assignments
Ensure all applicable administrative tasks are completed timely and accurately.
a. Complete all applicable paperwork and/or electronic recording of inspection/repair results in the acceptable timeframes.
b. Use mobile device according to established procedures to record all direct and indirect labor posts. Upload/sync mobile device regularly throughout the shift and resolve any errors promptly.
c. Ensure all parts and labor used to repair equipment is properly entered for each work order.
d. Track all inspection due dates to ensure all assigned inspections are performed in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
e. Complete all warranty/core returns regularly, completely, and resolve any issues timely.
f. Maintain a valid driver’s license and properly maintain assigned company vehicle.
g. Maintain assigned tools according to established applicable company procedures.
h. Properly maintain and keep secure all provided electronic devices.
i. Use assigned company purchase cards according to all applicable company procedures and policies. Enter all receipts timely and correctly.
j. Has regular interactions and meetings with state, federal, or third-party regulators/inspectors both onsite and offsite.
k. During all interactions with state, federal, or third-party regulators/inspectors demonstrate a level of professionalism that not only protects QuikTrip’s brand but our dedication to regulatory adherence.
Maintain select fueling system equipment and facilities in good working order.
a. Troubleshoot, diagnose issues, and make repairs to selected/specific fueling system equipment. Follow all applicable safety policies and procedures.
b. Provide good customer service by communicating effectively with QT peers, leadership, regulatory agency inspectors, customers, store employees, co-workers, and others as necessary.
c. Maintain assigned tools and fuel system component inventory according to established applicable company procedures.
d. Responsible for proper inventory processes as it relates to selling parts to repairs/stores, transferring parts from shop to truck, keeping truck inventory orderly and stocked.
Attend and participate meetings, training classes, tech rides, and other resources to maintain and improve technical proficiency.
a. Utilize the mobile device to request training on equipment as needed.
b. Attend and participate in all regulatory required training, skill schools, new equipment, and other training as assigned or requested.
c. Maintain all required manufacturer certifications.
d. Respond to requests from resource groups for resolutions to problem equipment.
e. Work with other Fuel System Inspectors to improve technical proficiency of the department.

Outside the company: Regulatory agency inspectors, vendors, contract service providers
Required education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Desired education: Two years of college or equivalent technical/trade school education. Veeder Root certifications.
Required experience: One years of experience trouble shooting and repairing of underground, above ground dispensing fuel equipment used in the operation of commercial fueling stations or
Desired experience: 3 years’ experience trouble shooting and repairing of underground, above ground dispensing fuel equipment used in the operation of a fueling station like QuikTrip.
Required skills: Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and perform small/limited repairs to fuel system equipment. Ability to efficiently route and prioritize work orders daily. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. A strong attention to detail.
Desired skills: Ability to share best practices and make recommendations on replacement and repair of general equipment.

This position requires the employee to be available by phone and/or email and/or have accessibility to calendar, contacts and data while out of the office.
This position is the face of QuikTrip to state and federal regulators/inspectors. Employee will always handle and respond to all situations in a professional manor, even when situations are confrontational.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.29 - $27.72 per hour
