Legal Secretary - Houston Law Firm
Transcribe and edit correspondence and legal documents in accordance with the requirements of assigned attorneys.
· Prepare documents for mailing with special attention given to completeness of enclosures.
· Input attorneys time into electronic timekeeping/billing system
· Coordinate mass reproduction or copy projects.
· Use office equipment to produce work (Copier, Fax, Scan, Computer, DVD Burner, etc.)
· Calendar deadlines, appointments with experts, witnesses, mediations, trials, etc.
· Schedule and confirm meetings and appointments for attorneys.
· Handle travel arrangements and reimbursements for attorneys
· Interact with various government and court officials as well as with clients via telephone, email and internet.
· eFiling legal documents in State and Federal Courts
· Prepare, file and send out subpoenas (use vendors when able); notify opposing counsel within proper time limits.
· Prepare for trial, creating trial books, exhibits, evidence, etc.
· Maintain and file all documents in electronic filing software.
· Open new matters, run conflicts following billing department procedures.
· Prepare payments for vendor invoices, witnesses, experts, court fees, etc.
· Receive and distribute mail daily
· Monitor and distribute e-services from district clerk’s website
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 37.50 per week
