Job Title: Marketing and Communications Manager
Position Overview:
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for promoting Hagar’s Sisters (HS) work and mission by developing, implementing, and assessing marketing strategies which creatively transform and enhance the view of Hagar’s Sisters as it continues its transition from a local to a national non-profit organization. To do so, the Marketing and Communications Manager will create impactful high quality digital media and printed materials designed to increase the number of women served and to reach new sisters at the national level. This special person has a vibrant faith in the Christian tradition, and this has a bearing on how they operate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning
- Design Marketing and Communications strategies to achieve annual organizational goals based on HS history, industry benchmarks, and best practices, always reflecting cross cultural belonging and cultural competence.
- Take a leadership role in devising a marketing strategy to support organization scaling.
- Collaborate with the Management team to design 3-year and annual strategic planning.
- Collaborate with Executive Director, Development Manager, and/or others with interests in the outcomes of various campaigns.
2. Communications
- Design and implement annual Marketing & Communications plan ensuring success of organizational goals including increasing engagement of the women we serve, donors, and volunteers.
- Design effective targeted communications reflecting HS branding and voice using digital/video and print.
- Collaborate with Programs Lead and Development Manager to gather and compose stories and quotes from those we serve, donors, and volunteers as a key element in our communications.
- Manage website content and functionality, modifying as needed.
- In collaboration with Development Manager and Executive Director design presentation templates and individual presentations for meetings.
- Create and implement mailings and email blasts, etc.
- Design database reports to develop targeted recipients from our Salesforce database.
- Respond to or forward inquiries to appropriate staff for response.
- Create and schedule engaging content across various social media platforms by:
- Monitoring social media trends to help keep our content relevant and engaging
- Analyzing performance metrics to gauge content effectiveness and make improvements
3. Outreach
- Design strategies, marketing materials, displays, and vehicles for gathering new leads for potential HS program participants, donors, and volunteers through speaking events, conference exhibits, etc.
- Design marketing materials and interact with vendors.
- Engage, train, and schedule volunteers, board members, contractors, and staff for marketing related activities.
- Document events and important activities by ensuring photos are taken.
4. Manage online Pop-up Store
- Design products and platform.
- Evaluate data and ROI to direct future products.
5. Management & Evaluation
- Ensure marketing data collection, reporting, & analysis to inform ROI and future recommendations.
- Ensure creation of and management of department budgets.
- Manage relationships with marketing vendors.

Position Qualifications
- 3 years minimum proven success as a Manager for Marketing & Communications preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated track record of successful campaign design and implementation that is intentional in its cultural diversity and competency.
- Bachelor's degree preferably in marketing, or similar marketing education.
- Hands-on experience implementing all aspects of marketing: strategy development, writing, graphical design, creating and editing video, presentation design, etc.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook), Microsoft Teams, database/Salesforce, WordPress, and Zoom, and advantageous to have experience with a Learning Management System/Docebo and design software/Canva.
- Hands-on experience with social media and web content management tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
