THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Finance - FMQ, the Accounting Manager is a key member of the AMMCON team and carries responsibility for all financial reporting, accounting and consolidations. She/he will opine on and interpret accounting policies for the Company to ensure compliance with US GAAP. The Accounting Manager will ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and manage accounts receivable, credit and collections, billing, and lease payables. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will establish and manage a high-performance function distinguished by continuous improvement, proactivity, and effective change management. Finally, the Accounting Manager will deliver a high-quality product well in advance of deadlines and support corporate objectives and initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish, track and continuously improve the key financial reports and metrics for the company and communicate / execute process improvement opportunities to the leadership team.
- Collaborates with General Manager, Plant accountants and other management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis
- Coordinate and manage the companies’ annual budget and forecasting processes.
- Support the entire organization in policy making and decisions aimed at increasing sales, enhancing productivity, achieve efficiencies and reducing cost.
- Manage capital acquisition approval process and monitoring of spending versus approved project budgets.
- Work to continuously upgrade personal knowledge of products, services, and needs of industries we serve.
- Maintains and develops financial team members by recruiting, training and coaching employees. Leads by example, providing financial staff with informal and formal feedback for employee development.
- Oversee the execution of all financial transactions, through oversight and personal execution of financial processes and controls. Manage personnel to efficiently and properly complete recording of financial transactions.
- Review monthly reconciliations and journal entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate programs, capital expenditures, product costing, and special projects when necessary.
- Direct cycle count procedures and/or physical inventory process and supervise reconciliation of raw material, work in process, and finished goods inventory balances.
- Standardize reporting processes, controls, and business analyses across the businesses.
- Guide the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing cost systems.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly reporting to Corporate, including company financial statements, metrics (orders & backlog/headcount) and tax information requests
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to the Director of Finance for further action.
- Exercise tight control and reporting of working capital and cash to ensure adherence to budgeted targets.
REQUIREMENTS
- Thrives in a fast-paced PE environment where change and driving EBITDA growth is the acceptable norm.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA desirable.
- Minimum five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum two years of experience in a management position in finance/accounting.
- Strong expertise in GAAP and recent changes therein
- Strong influencing skills with ability to motivate and enlist cooperation within the corporation.
- ERP systems implementation.
- Integration of acquisitions into the reporting structure.
- Project Management experience beneficial.
- Microsoft Office guru, especially Excel.
- Previous successful leadership and supervisory experience required.
- Must have demonstrated strong analytical and project management skills.
- Experience in Government Accounting standards and regulations is a plus.
