Medical Front Office Representative
Neurology practice looking for energetic, efficient, enthusiastic Front Desk Representative with excellent work ethic and professionalism. You need to be flexible, a team player, and truly enjoy caring for patients. Background check and drug screen required.
- Greet patients and visitors as they arrive; provide appropriate information
- Performs day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties including but not limited to word processing, scanning, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones and data entry
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments
- Appointment reminder calls; communicate estimated patient responsibility
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of patient registration forms prior to check-in
- Obtain and process new patient referrals
- Document and/or update all patient demographic information
- Initiate and maintain correspondence with patient and appropriate family members/representatives including follow-up information
- Maintain patient confidentiality, HIPAA compliant
- Adhere to all Clinic policies on safety and security; maintains restricted computer system passwords in strict confidentiality
- Provide medical billing and coding duties
- Provide education to patients regarding medical procedures
- Obtain patients’ information and record it in the database
- Pull patient records for physician/provider review
- Direct calls and messages to appropriate provider or medical office staff
- Liaise with insurance companies as needed
- Verify insurance information as needed

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior administrative or receptionist experience in a medical clinic, facility, or community-based setting highly preferred
- eClinical Works (eCw) knowledge preferred
- Athena knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of related OSHA guidelines and requirements, general office tasks, confidentiality and filing system
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with all business office machines, i.e., computer, multiline telephone, copier, and fax machines
- Must be bilingual
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
