Tax Services Paraprofessional – Fresno, CA
Job Summary:
The Tax Services Paraprofessional will support our tax department by assisting in the accurate and timely filing of tax documents. This role involves working closely with tax professionals to deliver high-quality service to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for tax compliance and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
- Tax assembly, processes and send or deliver tax returns to clients
- Conduct preliminary reviews of tax documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Organize and maintain tax records, including electronic and paper files.
- Gather and compile financial data from clients and internal sources.
- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary information and clarify details as needed.
- Support tax professionals in ad hoc projects.
- Perform data entry and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
- Handle administrative tasks related to tax filings, such as e-filing, printing, and mailing documents.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
- Support full cycle client onboarding and Statement of Work and Service Agreement for all clients.
- Assist and handle multiline phone calls.
- Perform other administrative support tasks as required, including clerical tasks, photocopying, faxing, filing, and collating.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; required
- Associate Degree or college degree, preferred
Experience:
- One (1) or more years working in tax, payroll, accounts payable, or general accounting, preferred
Software:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus.
