Kitchen Manager for a new restaurant:
We are seeking a skilled Kitchen Manager to oversee our culinary operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry and possess excellent leadership and organizational skills. Experience with a taco-centric menu is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead kitchen staff to ensure the highest quality with cost control of food preparation. This is a new restaurant. It is important to create a positive culture with accountability and hospitality from the beginnig.
- Oversee menu planning and food preparation processes. We are relocating a BBQ restaurant of 15 years to this location. The BBQ will stay the same. Tacos are somewhat new to D.B.A. Barbecue.
- Maintain inventory levels and control costs. Inventory will be countedd weekly for the first 90 days. It will go to twice a month after 90 days of operation if food cost is within budget.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. We will be serving Halal beef. This must be properly managed.
- Train and develop kitchen staff on proper techniques and procedures. This is a new restaurant that needs to have the correct culture from the start.
- Monitor kitchen operations to deliver an exceptional product that everyone is proud of serving.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in kitchen management of possible entry-level employees.
- Knowledge of hospitality management, food service management, and inventory control. The kitchen is part of hospitality not just production.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interviewing and leading staff in a new restaurant
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in every position (prep, line, expo)
