Job Summary:
The Pool Maintenance Worker at Sun Mountain Lodge is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all pool areas, including our outdoor pool and hot tubs. This role ensures that all aquatic facilities meet health and safety standards, providing an exceptional experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:

Daily Pool Maintenance:

Perform routine inspections of pools, hot tubs, and surrounding areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.

Test water quality, including pH, chlorine, and alkalinity levels, adjusting chemicals as necessary to maintain proper balance.

Clean pool surfaces, skimmers, and filters; vacuum and skim pools to remove debris.

Monitor and maintain pool water levels.

Equipment Management:

Inspect and maintain pool equipment, including pumps, heaters, and filtration systems, ensuring they operate efficiently.

Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on pool equipment; report major issues to the supervisor or arrange for professional repairs.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.

Maintain accurate records of water quality tests, chemical usage, and maintenance activities.

Ensure that pool areas are equipped with necessary safety equipment and that signage is visible and up-to-date.

Guest Interaction:

Assist guests with questions or concerns regarding pool facilities.

Provide excellent customer service and uphold the resort's standards of hospitality.

Other Duties:

Assist with setting up and breaking down poolside events and activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Location Requirement:
Applicants should be based in or near the Winthrop area or have reliable transportation for commuting.
Qualifications:

Experience:
-
Previous experience in pool maintenance or a similar role is preferred.

Knowledge of pool chemistry and maintenance practices.

Skills:
-
Ability to operate and maintain pool equipment and tools.

Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting and repairs.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Certifications:
-
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent certification is preferred but not required; willing to train the right candidate.

First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat and cold.

Comfortable with extended periods of standing, bending, and manual labor.
Work Environment:

Outdoor and indoor pool areas with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Pay is $18.00 per hour
