We are looking for a Research Analyst to work with our client to track various types of risks. You will help identify potential threats and create plans to prevent and mitigate problems. In this role, you should be highly perceptive and methodical. You should have the ability to communicate effectively, track items, and present your data in a convincing way. A Risk / Research Analyst must have experience in the review of IT project risk data to identify discrete area and overall program/project risk in terms of cost, schedule, and performance. They will be coordinating with program team members to gather and validate data. Identify risk areas and create narrative, graphic, and oral status reports. For this position you will also be tracking the project through the use of Excel, SharePoint and other Microsoft products for a federal client.

A Risk / Research Analyst must have the following:
- Experience in the review of software data,
- Experience in briefing senior staff on status using routine, ad hoc, written and oral reports.
- Experience in conducting audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors.
- Proven experience tracking data and using Excel
- Strong computer and research skills;
- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Work with Project Managers to help define, track and analyze possible risks
- Track Project processes and procedures
- Track processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks
- Evaluate existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses
- Prepare reports and present recommendations.
- Help implement solutions and plans.
Preferred Skills for a Research Analyst:
- Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
- Preference will be given to those individuals where their primary residency is located in a qualified HUBZone (http://map.sba.gov/hubzone/maps/)
