We are looking for an organized, responsible, and multi-tasked individual who can assist us with intakes and front office coordination. A candidate that can show compassion to our families, and is willing to learn, would be an excellent fit. We offer a very flexible schedule, as well as orientation and training with our electronic medical record system. Previous experience with speech therapy & occupational therapy (OT) services, or rehab services is preferred, but not required.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for promptly answering incoming calls and providing information and problem resolution in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner
- Return all messages within 24 hours
- Complete client intakes
- Collect insurance information (if applicable)
- Responsible for updating client demographics
- Transfer intake information into EMR
- Securely email intake forms to clients
- Answer family's questions related to practice policies, waitlist time and billing
- Update wait lists and communicate this daily-weekly to the office manager & owner
- Assign clients to clinicians and communicate assignment to clinician
- Obtain notes and orders from referring physician offices
- Follow up with discharged clients for reviews
- Ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards
- Perform any other duties assigned
*This position will be completed at our clinic - 2018 Rock Spring Road, Forest Hill, MD 21050. Hours are Mondays-Thursdays 3pm-7pm and Fridays 8:30am to 1pm*
Job Requirements:
- Excellent telephone skills and customer service
- Active listening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in healthcare preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work well with staff, residents and family members
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Previous experience with Simple Practice (electronic medical record system) or other medical software preferred, but not required
- Team player attitude, compassion, energetic, with a focus on excellent customer service
- Attention to detail and organization
- Excellent time management skills
- Must be authorized to work in the US
