Job Summary
The Environmental Scientist shall provide environmental management and support services to satisfy the overall operational of the facility. Management and support services may include, but are not limited to, environmental compliance assurance, stormwater management, wastewater management, air quality management, storage tank management, environmental compliance management system, environment, safety and occupational health council, cultural resource management, natural resource management, integrated solid waste management, qualified recycling program, green procurement, hazardous materials and waste management, environmental plans management, environmental education, training and outreach, installation management support, and environmental restoration

Compensation:
- $60-$80,000/per year. (Chloeta reserves the right to offer any candidate above or below the listed compensation amount based on experience or business needs)

Duties/Responsibilities
- Outlines and plans data collection methods to be used in projects and surveys.
- Collects and analyzes environmental data including pollution emissions, results of atmospheric monitoring, meteorological information, and soil or water samples.
- Studies data to determine its validity, quality, and scientific significance.
- Investigates accidents that may affect the environment.
- Analyzes correlations between human activities and environmental effects.
- Analyzes sources of pollution and determines effects on the environment.
- Generates theories or methods of pollution control or reduction.
- Prepares oral briefings, documents, workshops, training sessions, or public hearings to communicate scientific and technical information.
- Provides guidance to governmental agencies, environmental programs, industries, or the public.
- Reviews and studies environmental technical standards, guidelines and regulations.
- Represents company in government and industry rulemaking activities.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Required Skills and Abilities
- Experience in Environmental Compliance Assurance/Management System, Stormwater Management, Wastewater Managment, Air Quality Management, Storage Tank Management, Environment, Safety and Occupational Health Council, Cultural Resources Management, Natural Resources Management, Integrated Solid Waste Management, Qualified Recycling Program, Green Procurement, Hazardous Materials/ Waste Management, Environmental Plans Management,, Environmental Education, Training and Outreach, Installation Management Support, Comprehensive Assest Management and Environmental Restoration.
- Extensive knowledge of computer modeling, digital mapping and global positioning systems (GPS) equipment.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check for government security clearance.
- Ability to monitor changes in federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science from an accredited university or college.
- Required: at least two (2) years of relevant working experience in the Environmental Science field.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Occasional field work (monitoring/surveying) may be required.
- This job operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
