Site Safety and Health Officer
Overview
The Site Safety and Health Officer is responsible for overseeing safety related operations, from conducting safety inspections to training works on safety protocols on the job site to maintain a safe and efficient construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to assist operations in identifying and mitigating hazards to ensure a safe work environment while promoting safe work practices including preparation and reviews of JHAs, AHAs, and Toolbox talks
- Ensure project personnel, including subcontractors, and executing site work complies with OSHA, state, federal, and company safety policies
- Prevent accidents, investigate accidents/injuries, and ensure that workers and the job site comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
- Oversee OSHA reporting in collaboration with management personnel and maintain OSHA 300 forms
- Maintain safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution
- Maintain current SDS list of hazardous chemicals on sites
- Collaborate with operations and project management to ensure efficient communication and drive project safety execution
- Assists with company-wide rollouts of all Safety-related documents, training, policies, and procedures.
Skills
- 3-5 years of experience with preference toward the construction industry
- 40-hour OSHA Training Course
- 8-hour OSHA Supervisor Training Course
- Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation abilities with focused flexibility leading a diverse group of individuals located on various projects throughout Massachusetts and abutting states
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
