Job Summary:
Sets ups and operates the various forging presses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Having tooling assembled and available following production schedule.
- Understand set up and operation of forge presses to form metal products
- Understand set up and operation of trim presses to form metal products
- Read blueprints
- Clean die surfaces with air brush at times of lube / scale build up.
- Polish dies as needed
- Analysis of tooling condition after production -> to rework or send for renew
- Tool tracking- Establishing a baseline for each program and following major failure modes (die crack, excessive wear, etc)
- Inventory of Alcorta tooling- both internally and at vendor
- Forging dies
- Trimming components
- Kick-pins
- Die shop tools (consumables)
- Hi-Lo driver license
- Operate crane when moving dies
- Provide feedback to the engineering department on tooling performance for continuous improvement

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma
- 2-3 years of press operation experience
- Prior experience driving a Hi-Lo license required
- Prior crane experience

Work Schedule:

40-60 hour minimum workweek; Monday – Friday – Some Saturdays required
- 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. (day shift)
- 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. (afternoon shift)

May require on-call duty and the ability to work outside of scheduled work hours including weekends and holidays when the need arises
