Job Overview:
The office seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant or LPN to join a solo physician practice that focuses on DOT physicals (Federal Department of Transportation).
The reliable individual will work 6-hour days, Tuesday-Thursday (7:45 am to 1:45 pm) and a couple 4-hour Saturdays per month (8:45 am to 12:45 pm).
The trustworthy candidate will assist the doctor with registration, payment collection, inital patient intake (vital signs, vision/hearing testing), urine dipsticks, finger sticks, laundry (washer/dryer), folding gowns, and room preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Type in patient demographics during patient registration
- Collect payments (at time of service; the practice doesn't accept insurance)
- Perform urine dipsticks
- Check blood sugars via finger sticks (not a daily occurrence)
- Take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, forehead temp, vision/hearing testing)
- Manage gowns (wash/dry/fold)
- Vacuum (small waiting room; not daily)
- Scan documents
- Batch out credit card settlement report at end-of-day
Experience:
- Proven experience as LPN or Medical Assistant
- Familiarity with Windows desktop computer and tablets
- Proficiency with blood pressures, urine dipsticks, and finger sticks
- Ability to process credit/debit/cash payments
The individual's assistance will protect commercial drivers and the general driving public.
