Job Description: Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Community Initiatives

Reports to: Executive Director of External Relations
Salary: $90,000/year
Location: 136 W. 21st Street
Work Schedule: In Person Minimum 3 Days per week and 1-2 Remote
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Executive Director of External Relations. This full-time position collaborates with the Executive Director of External Relations to build strategic alliances, cultivate industry partnerships, and create opportunities to enhance SVA's visibility and prestige. Assists with developing a full range of meaningful engagement platforms for SVA. Conducts outreach to build cross-sector partnerships and collaborations with multiple entities–from nonprofits to sponsors, city arts/media organizations to private industry. Conceives and initiates new programs, outreach, and events. Speaks on behalf of the college at conferences and online events to promote SVA and enhance the college's reputation while cultivating new relationships. Monitoring and responding to External Relations emails is critical to the role, requiring careful assessment and strategic recommendations regarding external and internal collaboration opportunities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct in-person and virtual outreach to arrange collaborations with a focus on New York City cultural institutions such as museums, non-profits, and arts organizations, media, and technology sectors.

Cultivate relationships with organizations that can provide future sponsored or co-branded projects and co-branded events in major cities around the U.S. and globally.

Build a database of contacts and confer with chairs and SVA leadership on strategies for leveraging these contacts and events.

Develop and execute ideas to utilize and promote a range of SVA programs from SVA Destinations to SVA Premieres in LA and all events that showcase the talent and unique experiences available to our students and alumni.

Partner extensively with Alumni Affairs, Communications, Admissions, and Visual Arts Press offices to ensure projects are collaborative and have synergies with existing and potential events, publications, and promotions.

Work with studio and academic departments to enhance their current programs/events in ways that better promote themselves and the College.

Support the executive director in producing special events for the college. This includes but is not limited to producing the annual All Staff Meeting and hosting panels and guest speakers.

Manage all aspects of producing the annual All Staff Meeting, including creating production schedules, contacting vendors and arranging contracts, arranging photo shoots, and organizing visual presentations for speakers.

Manage the Visual Arts Journal mailing list, providing story ideas for the magazine.

Work with the director to project and manage the production budget for the Visual Arts Journal. This will also involve working with other departments top discuss budgets.

Meet on a monthly basis with the assistant to the President to keep the office apprised of on-campus and special events.

Collect, track, and update incoming students' artwork and model release forms and communicate with the Registrar's office.

Monitor and respond to External Relations emails, assessing and recommending engagement with outside and internal requests for collaboration including/not limited to on-campus filming.

Oversee a student worker to support outreach, potential collaborations, and committee work.

Serve on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, providing research, administrative work, and special event support.

Provide administrative support to the executive director as needed.

May require travel periodically.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors' degree, from an accredited college/university.

Strong networking skills and an ability to build new and cultivate existing relationships with industry.

Experience and proficiency in delivering presentations, speeches, or talks to various audiences effectively.

Must have collaborative skills and ability to build coalitions across departments.

This position requires extensive people skills and strategic thinking about how to build rapport and partnerships within and outside of the organization.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and online content management systems.

Proficiency in a variety of social media platforms including Instagram.
