Supplier Quality Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Guarantee supplier products and processes adhere to specified standards and requirements.
- Implement and maintain ISO standard procedures across supplier operations.
- Conduct comprehensive supplier audits to ensure quality compliance.
- Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming products, ensuring quality control.
- Drive and support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Review and approve PPAP documents and Supplier Part Submission Warrant documents.
- Evaluate Supplier Change Requests to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance teams to support various activities.
- Ensure design drawings and processes comply with industry and company standards.
- Partner with suppliers to enhance product and process quality.
- Modify inspection plans based on supplier performance data.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions.
- Provide training to supplier quality personnel to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the overall quality goals.
Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Expertise in Lean manufacturing practices and principles.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in quality assurance methods and tools.
- Experience with PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, and various problem-solving techniques.
- Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with Mil Spec Standards.
- Preferred: Experience in design, mechanical integrity, process control, project management, assembly, and machining.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of quality-related experience.
- Over 8 years of progressive experience in quality systems and process quality within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
- Additional certifications such as AWS, ASNT, NACE, or ASME are highly desirable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
