FRAMING SUPERINTENDENT
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Superintendent you will coordinate and manage all on-site activities, as well work with the General Contractors project teams including Project Managers, Superintendents, Homeowners, Architects, Engineers, Designers, Foreman, and Field Personnel to deliver successful projects to GCs and owners, on time and on budget with the desired level of quality. Superintendent duties include, but are not limited to…
1. Ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections occur to support the project schedule. Need to forecast out what is needed at least one week in advance to schedule deliveries and eliminate needless running around.
2. Responsible for site safety and cleanliness. Ensure the overall jobsite is safe for workers and visitors as well as manage compliance with established company safety policies. Remember how our jobsites look directly represent us as a company. A clean jobsite is a happy and safe jobsite.
3. Work with the project teams to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel as well as management of labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other cost considerations.
4. Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, contracts, and manufacturer's data and execute project based upon said documentation.
5. Review construction jobsites and construction documents for completeness and constructability. It is your job to make sure that the crews have all the information required to complete the job in a timely manner. This includes any pre-construction meeting to go over job game plans, missing info, RFI’s, changes, delivery feasibility and staging for materials and equipment.
6. Manage the overall project and 3 week look ahead schedules and updating it on a weekly basis.
7. Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies. This has to be prioritized even if it doesn’t seem important at the moment, these will sneak up on you. The job can not stop, its never to early to have information.
8. Conduct preconstruction planning.
9. Conduct on-site project meetings with superintendent’s, Gc’s and construction trades relevant to framing (Structural Steel, HVAC, Electrical, roofers…) to ensure that the job goes smoothly. We all have to work together!
10. Manage Foreman for all work performed on-site. This does not mean to micromanage, or to change how they work as a crew (if there is a problem with how something is being done it needs to be brought up with upper management) this means to guide them in the right direction related to material drops, best use of materials, schedules, expectations, quality, and cleanliness.
11. Management and supervision of work crews on-site including…
a. Mentor and train field personnel.
b. Manage foreman and their duties and ensure all have resources and information to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.
c. Provide performance evaluation feedback of field personnel to upper management.
d. Manage the overall safety and cleanliness of the project and ensure all personnel have resources to perform their work safely.
12. Other duties could include…
a. Work with the project team to maintain relationships with GC’s, owners, superintendents, foremen and suppliers.
b. Manage site work and logistics of construction site.
c. Provide feedback on processes and procedures, as the company truly believes in continuous development.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
